There are many benefits for new practitioners to join MSHP, whether you are a technician, student, resident, or pharmacist within 5 years of graduating.  Please join us for one of our biannual new practitioner socials to get to know more about MSHP!​

  • Mentorship: mentor/mentee program geared towards mentorship of new practitioners
  • Automatic membership into TSHP and MSHP
  • Opportunities to provide local presentations through MSHP and TSHP
  • Opportunities to submit to the TSHP Journal for publication
  • Volunteer and leadership opportunities to improve skill set and boost your CV/resume
​​MSHP New Practitioner Mentorship Program
The 2018-2019 pilot program will close on or about October 31st (Halloween!!)
If you have interest in participating in this program, please read through
​the requirements for being a pharmacist mentor or new practitioner
Purpose: Provide an avenue for new practitioners to obtain knowledge of career enhancement opportunities and further career pathway options, while engaging practicing pharmacists in development of new practitioners.

Mentors
  • Pharmacist graduated >5 years ago and registered Texas pharmacist member of MSHP
  • Desire to give back to the profession of pharmacy within the DFW area
  • Willingness to share resources, expertise, experiences, advice and more!

New Practitioners
  • Pharmacist graduated within the past 5 years and registered Texas pharmacist member of MSHP
  • Desire to gain advice and mentorship from a pharmacist within the DFW area
  • Willingness to enhance networking and obtain guidance related to career paths and options

​Requirements for Mentors and New Practitioners
  • Available to maintain at least one monthly contact
  • Demonstrate mutual respect in all communications
  • Maintain confidentiality of all discussions related to experiences and pharmacy practice sites, unless otherwise discussed between the two parties
  • Display openness in discussing any concerns or issues with new practitioner career development
​All participants will be notified of their match via email in November.
